Stereotypical Representation: Media often resorts to clichéd and one-dimensional portrayals of Black history, Afro-infused cultures, and Black characters which lacking depth and authenticity.
Inaccurate Historical Context: Many projects fail to capture the rich and complex, first-person history of Black communities, leading to a misrepresentation or oversimplification of historical events and figures.
Cultural Insensitivity: There is frequent oversight of the cultural, historical, and sociological realities of different Black communities. Each community throughout the African Diaspora has its unique cultural heritage to be respectfully and accurately represented.
Language and Dialect Misrepresentation: Properly capturing the nuances of dialects is crucial for authenticity, especially when representing communities that communicate in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, various English-based and French-based Creoles, and thousands native African languages, pidgins, patois, and dialects.
Lack of Diverse Perspectives: Often, media and entertainment projects lack input from diverse voices, particularly from those who have a lived experience of the culture being portrayed.

Counteracting Stereotypical Representation: We work with media and creative industries to challenge clichéd portrayals of Afro-Indigenous history and cultures. Our approach includes workshops and consultations with creators to infuse depth and authenticity into representations of Black characters and Afro-infused cultures.
Ensuring Accurate Historical Context: Recognizing the importance of historical integrity, we collaborate with historians and cultural experts to provide accurate depictions of Black communities' histories. We assist in research and fact-checking to prevent misrepresentation or oversimplification of historical events and figures.
Promoting Cultural Sensitivity: To address cultural insensitivity, we provide cultural competency training and sensitivity reviews for projects depicting various Black communities. Our focus is on respecting the distinct cultural, historical, and sociological realities of each community within the African Diaspora.
