Full Biography
A. Prince Albert III is a venerated Afro/Indigenous cultural sustainability advocate, a flourishing social entrepreneur, and an emerging filmmaker.
Prince is the Founder and President of Goldwater Ventures -- a full-client service cultural sustainability firm committed to sustaining the traditionalist lifeways of cultural communities worldwide. The firm's advisory practice delivers expert guidance to large institutions supporting Afro-Indigenous communities, and the firm's Arts division produces compelling content about Afro/Indigenous cultural experiences. Prince authors numerous publications on cultural sustainability, folklore traditions, and other policy topics relating to Afro/Indigenous cultural rights. Under his tenure, Goldwater Arts has advised on multi-Emmy-nominated short films and will license two highly anticipated short-film series around Afro/Indigenous experiences to major networks later this year. Prince also serves as the founding Chairman of the Gullah/Geechee Cultural Community Trust Inc., the official nonprofit organization of the Gullah/Geechee Nation focused on creating solutions at the intersection of land and culture for Gullah/Geechee people in northeastern Florida and southeastern Georgia.
Before founding Goldwater Ventures, Prince enjoyed over 12 years of experience as a distinguished advisor and public interest policy advocate. Prince is a recognized thought leader on technology law and policy, particularly at its intersections with civil liberties, civil rights, consumer rights, and human rights. His lobbying efforts have encompassed over 50 legislative matters, leading to more than 300 meetings in the last four sessions of the U.S. Congress. His direct efforts were instrumental in at least 15 rulemakings across federal agencies, including the FTC, FCC, DoJ, Commerce, and NIST. Prince has made over 20 appearances on national media and authored more than 12 reports cited in academic publications, federal proceedings, and a U.S. Supreme Court case. As a skilled advocate and networker, he has spearheaded 26 advocacy coalitions and established 20 strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, government and NGO officials, and major philanthropists, contributing to nearly $1 million raised for the mission-driven organizations he has served.
Prince is a veteran of the United States Navy. He earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center as a Global Law Scholar, and graduated Morehouse College summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and French. He is fluent in French and Spanish, while maintaining fluid proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese, French-based, and English-based creoles. Prince routinely gives academic lectures at America’s top law and policy schools to empower the next generation of social good leaders and change-makers.
